Build Update & Teasers

We’ve completed much of the drivetrain, ball handling, and shooting mechanics. The majority of the electronic components are mounted and wired. There still remains a seemingly endless list of items to finish, but the robot is getting close to its final form. We made a quick weight check, and it looks like we may not have to make any modifications to be under the limit.

One more build Saturday to go before the scrimmage on February 18th.

Halfway Through Build Season

We constructed field elements and a prototype shooter during the first week. It was able to put the ball in the top hoop from the key.

During the second week, we built our drivetrain chassis.

For week three, we worked on ball handling mechanisms. Our goal was to pick up balls by the end of the week, but we haven’t yet attained that goal. Work continues on the robot superstructure, ball handling, and the shooter. We plan to tune our aim and shoot code by the end of week four.

Build Season 2012 Underway!

Last Saturday, Team 1731 gathered to watch the annual FRC Kickoff. It was an exciting time when the 2012 game was revealed: Rebound Rumble! The game is based on basketball but has some modifications.
